Washington Sports Power Rankings

 Happy Halloween power rankings update! In light of the holiday, we're spooking some teams with a change at the top. Sharktopus goes down to #5 after just two wins in their last six in all competitions, and Alt Olanchano slides after their second draw in four games in Liga Del Pacifico. On the other end, the WAC takes the top spot due to their good form and RATS and the USOC qualifiers, right ahead of undefeated Meat Sweats and undefeated (except to the WAC) Bellevue Athletic and Mustangs FC. Xolos also jump to #14 after winning the Wenatchee league this weekend; we'll say goodbye to them and Santa Cruz Prep after a week of inactivity next time around. Speaking of, congrats to Valle Azul for winning the Blue Mountain league (Walla Walla) back on 10/20, but all the eastern Washington leagues have officially moved indoors for the winter. Another great week of amateur soccer in the books. We've expanded the rankings to the top 35 teams. We'll see about future expansion, we don't want to hate ourselves for doing these. For now, a handful of new teams jump into the rankings for the first time this fall, none higher than ECS Black (currently third in GSSL D1). Atlas won the La Liga Bellevue/Redmond championship, crowning themselves kings of the eastside. Congrats to FTI for defeating the A/B Sharktopus on Thursday, who stay top but are wobbling a bit across competitions. Alt Olanchano stay strong at 2 after a win over Chivas, who slide to 31. Congratulations to River Rats and Spokane Llamas for making the Spokane final, as well as Real LP and Valle Azul for making the Blue Mountain Community Soccer (Walla Walla) final. River Rats, in particular, get a bump for winning the Inland Northwest Soccer Association; those teams will vanish next week as their leagues move into hibernation. Have to play to be ranked! Tha...

 Back with a new CURRENT top 25 amateur teams. Teams must be currently playing to make the list (we're watching you, River Rats and Spokane Llamas). We also dropped the pro teams; what fun is it ranking the Sounders #1 every time? Also, while a full rankings may return in the future, it's hard to track that many teams, so we're downsizing to 25 for the time being with the hope of posting more consistently. Enjoy!
