Washington Sports Power Rankings

 Well, now I know why NCAA basketball power rankings stick to a Top 25. It's a huge pain to try ranking 300-400 teams, and while each team deserves recognition for getting out there and playing at all, we're thinking we can start pumping out a more consistent ranking by sticking to the upper echelon of teams. In today's ranking, most of the top-end semi-pro teams keep their place as Bellingham United won't be punished much for a meaningless (to them) PK loss to Vancouver and Walla Walla doesn't budge despite a friendly loss to La Placita, a Tri-Cities club I can't find any additional information on. Leones slips due to the end-of-season form and forfeit, Crossfire rises a touch with the NPSL playoff run, and Eastside jumps into the top 25. On the rec side, the WAC is back, Atl Olanchano cements their supremacy in Liga Del Pacifico by beating Metapan, and defending SPSL champion Narayit holds onto the final spot despite a few tough matches.  Rank Previous Rank Te...

Congrats to Yakima United on the Super Cup victory! You've earned the top spot in this version of the rankings. Also, welcome the Blue Mountain Soccer League and the Tri-Cities Soccer League to the rankings - it's great to see some eastern Washington representation. Many teams have huge jumps, many have huge falls, but such is life in an inexact "science". This was the most difficulty update yet, and you'll notice we have about 30 more teams than last update, but the inter-league tournaments (like the "final" between Union MS and Cruzerio, or the Liga Del Pacifico tournament) help significantly. Many teams slid simply due to the increase. We're optimistic that the upcoming league playoffs, Kla Ha Ya men's division (if your team is playing under a different name, please reach out), Copa Guero, Desna Cup, etc will provide more clarity next time.
